Join us to celebrate the nature garden’s first birthday
A wildlife-friendly space in the heart of the village
We are transforming the old toddler playpark into a haven for nature and people. Our aims are to create a garden which:
- benefits native species by providing the habitat they need
- offers villagers and visitors a tranquil green space on their doorstep
- encourages community spirit through volunteering opportunities, events and activities
Supporting nature
At a time when it’s widely acknowledged that biodiversity is under threat, it’s vital to set aside areas for native species.
Over the next few months and years, the nature garden will become a much-needed feeding and breeding site for wildlife – all by providing an attractive mix of shrubs, hedging, perennials and bulbs.

A green refuge
It’s not just the natural world that will benefit of course. Being surrounded by nature is good for our mental health and aids relaxation.
The garden will offer children a safe place to explore nature and learn more about the environment. We’ll be providing activities and resources to get families started.
And the garden will be a focus for the community – whether as a regular volunteer or an occasional visitor, there are lots of ways you can get involved.
