… there’s brass, as the saying goes.
And it appears to be true! Our application for funding from the Trust for Oxfordshire’s Environment (TOE) with support from Grundon Waste Management Ltd has been approved.
This is a huge step towards creating the nature garden – a thriving haven for nature and people in Upton. As well as attracting wildlife, we hope it will provide a focal point for community activities involving biodiversity and the environment.
Getting to this point has only been possible with the support of Alexander Little, our garden designer and horticultural advisor, who’s been so generous with his time and expertise.
Thanks also to Rachel Sanderson at TOE, Upton Parish Council, Wild Oxfordshire, the Doris Field Charitable Trust, Shenfield Flooring, Strictly Wines, Upton Village Hall Trustees, T-Birds WI, Sustainable Blewbury, HUGS, Councillors Sally Povolotsky, Sarah Medley and Hayleigh Gascoigne – and to all of you who kindly emailed your support, and offers of plants or time.
The transformation will kick off as part of Great Big Green Week – a national event for nature and action on climate change – from 18 to 26 September. You’ll find more details here soon.
